Picture this, light through clouds River and its guises.

BETWEEN WAVES was a residency-gig series set up by Archipelago in 2018 to collaborate and create new music with emerging female-identifying artists, supported by Help Musicians UK.

Each artist devised new material from scratch with Archipelago during an intensive 2 day collaboration culminating in a performance on the second evening at Cobalt Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The guests were:

Rosie Frater-Taylor - Guitar/Voice www.rosiefratertaylor.com
Faith Brackenbury - Violin/Viola/Voice/FX soundcloud.com/faith-brackenbury
Lisette Auton - Spoken Word lisetteauton.co.uk
Fran Bundey - Live Vocal Looping, Electronics www.facebook.com/frbundey/

Here are some specially selected live tracks from the collaborations. We had an incredible time working with these talented artists and we are very grateful to them for taking a leap into the unknown with us and for fearlessly bringing their creative voices to BETWEEN WAVES.

We also want to give a huge thank you to Cobalt Studios for lending us their excellent venue, Rob Griffiths for live sound and recording, John Martindale at Blank Studios for mixing and mastering, Help Musicians UK, Julia Heslop, Wes Stephenson and every listener and supporter who made this so special.

Check out these artists’ work and watch this space for more Archipelago adventures.
Happy listening!
